Seattle I

I loved Seattle when I visited for the first time a few weeks ago, but I had no idea I would be back so soon. On the last visit blue skies and abnormal sunshine forced sunglasses and smiles as my mom and I wandered through farmers markets and beneath the shadow of the Space Needle. We spent more of our time with my cousins and aunt, babies crawling at our feet.
This time the skies are gray and drizzly but cherry trees provide pink blossoming reminders of spring. Mimicking our mood, the clouds darken and gather close to the earth then abruptly lift and lighten, sun sending shards through the cottony dampness.
Time spent with family is different this trip. One less voice is heard, but the babies are forming new sounds and filling in the gaps, slowly slowly.
